BRABUS PRESENTS A NEW GENERATION OF 800-SERIES CARS POWERED BY MOTUL

03.06.2021

The Brabus 800 has become a staple in the automotive industry. While the boffins at AMG in Affalterbach try and push the envelope time after time, the engineers in Bottrop can always do a bit better! And boy, did they go to town on these cars! Brabus offered us the chance to experience them, and we still haven’t been able to stop grinning.

BRABUS PRESENTS A NEW GENERATION OF 800-SERIES CARS POWERED BY MOTUL

An eye-watering 789 bhp and 1000 Nm of torque

In the last month, Brabus has introduced a revised 800 series based on the all-new E-Class, GLS, and GLE Mercedes-AMG vehicles. All three cars share a similar recipe. Their 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 has been seriously upgraded with Brabus’ own high-performance turbochargers and the plug-and-play Power Extra B40S-800 ECU performance upgrade. Taking its standard, and already meaty, 612 bhp to an eye-watering 789 bhp (800 PS). The torque however is where you can really feel it and it’s what gives every Brabus that signature oomph. The standard torque goes up from 850 Nm to that magical 1000 Nm.

The current crop of AMG cars have seen their signature exhaust note cut down significantly due to WLTP emission regulations, bringing the addition of a particle filter. That marked an and to those crackle and pops that was a signature to every AMG previously released. If it’s the sound you want, Brabus has a solution with their performance exhaust bringing back the music we all love.

Germany’s favourite taxi

The smallest of the three is the E-Class. Germany’s favourite taxi. The Brabus-ized version won’t be painted beige anytime soon but still remains its business looks. With the added carbon fiber aerodynamic parts and forged 21-inch wheels the Brabus 800 E-Class might keep its business looks it also means business. With its power upgrade, the Brabus 800 will propel itself from 0-100km/h in merely 3.0 seconds, half a second less than the AMG it’s based on! If you have a dog, there’s also an estate version available as well! However, if you like your Brabus one size bigger there also is a new GLE version of the Brabus 800. It gets the same treatment as the E-Class but on a slightly bigger scale.

The one everyone talks about, however, is a seven-seater, with looks that could as well make it Darth Vader’s company car. We’re talking about the Brabus interpretation of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+. With its aerodynamic upgrades including new bumpers with carbon fiber parts, a new grille and rear diffusor, Brabus has created the most evil-looking SUV on sale today. A truly impressive Supersport SUV. With its 800 PS and 1000 Nm the GLS propels itself to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and will continue on to a limited 280 km/h. The perfect Autobahn cannonball!

A unique level of reliability

There is however one improvement that Brabus applies to the engines in all of these cars and that is their recommended use of Motul fluids. Every Brabus car comes factory fresh filled with Motul 8100 or 300V as well as Motul gearbox lubricant, brake fluid and coolants. This is the result of a longstanding collaboration between the French lubricant brand and the German engineers. All Brabus cars have a three-year warranty and the use of Motul products helps them achieve that level of reliability.
