Clearwater clearly at the top

08.11.2015

Motul's presence at the highest level of endurance is a long-standing tradition. Kicking off in Japan at Mount Fuji, the 2015/2016 season of the Asian Le Mans Series continued in  Sepang, Malaysia, on 8 November. The Automobile Club de l’Ouest took back control this year over this championship which should soon reach maturity. No less than five teams enjoying technical support from the red-and-white-logo brand entered four of the five categories contending.

Sepang often presents contenders with difficult weather conditions: high humidity, searing heat and the occasional unexpected shower. As it was, rain stopped just before the start of race two of the ALMS. In LMP2, teams Algarve Pro Racing and Eurasia came respectively 2nd and 3rd with, for Eurasia, the satisfaction of having bagged best lap time. Richard Bradley was indeed the only one to break the two-minute mark.

Motul won the CN 2 litre prototype class thanks to its new partner Avelon Formula and its superb Wolf. In LMP3, team AAI's Addess 03 took 2nd place. One of the feats of the race is to be credited to Clearwater Racing, a long-standing partner of Motul which, as in Fuji, placed its McLaren 650S GT3 in pole and in the lead of the GTs at the arrival. The team and its drivers therefore sit comfortably at the lead of the championship in their class.
