SSR Performance - More than just racing

We spoke to Christina Lengenfelder, Head of Motorsport Events & Sponsoring at SSR Performance. SSR Performance is competing in the DTM for the first time this year with a Porsche, having already won the ADAC GT Masters in 2020 and finished the season as runners-up the following year.

"SSR Performance is not only a successful racing team, but actually a car repair shop in Munich. On 10,000m² we work on vehicles of all brands, focusing mainly on sports cars. We have two special features besides the normal workshop operation: One is our unique nitrogen storage, where two underground floors are filled with nitrogen and the vehicles are brought to the right parking space by an automated system. This oxygen-reduced atmosphere counteracts vehicle aging, which can preserve or increase the value of the cars. It also eliminates the risk of fire.

We also have a unique performance test bench: one of the most modern and powerful apex roller test benches is available to our customers for performance measurements and engine tuning. With power up to 4,000 kW, a blower speed of up to 200 km/h and a temperature-controlled air flow, we can produce extremely accurate measurement results."

"Our drivers are Laurens Vanthoor and Dennis Olsen. Laurens drives our #92 and comes from Belgium. He is very experienced in the GT class and has already won many championships and races. Dennis Olsen from Norway is our youngster on the #94 and could directly convince positively this season, for example, he got second place at the Saturday race at the Norisring. Both drivers are a big and important part of the SSR Performance family and also live our corporate culture, which is very important to us. This season we are driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R with up to 550 hp. Thereby we have water cooled 6-cylinder boxer engine with a 6-speed claw gearbox as well as a displacement of 4,000 cm3."

"We've been very spoiled for success over the last two years and are also very perfectionist in everything we do - so of course we want success. We're currently in a healthy midfield position, which we're happy with because it's our first DTM season and the grid is enormously strong. Nevertheless, we want to collect a lot of points in the remaining races in order to climb further up or to the top, especially in the team standings. The Nürburgring is the next race and, as the past has shown, the track suits us very well."

"For us, it is extremely important to have the best oils in addition to drivers and vehicles. Otherwise, it would not even be possible to achieve the performance and reach the finish line safely in the process. That is why we rely completely on Motul. In addition to the products we use in motorsport, we also use Motul products in our workshop, of course. As I said - what works on the race track also works on the road.
