At the 2015 International Historic Motoring Awards ceremony held for the fifth year on Thursday 19 November in London at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Peter Auto received two trophies for its organisation work. The trophy rewarding the Race Series of the Year concerns Motul closely, as the French firm is the official lubricant partner of Classic Endurance Racing.
Created in 2004, CER covers a period of car endurance racing from 1966 to 1979, when the major events of the discipline enthralled crowds as much as Formula 1. The series groups GTs and Prototypes, divided into two fields depending on the year they were built and has visited major events of the international historic car racing calendar: Vallelunga Classic, Spa Classic with 20,000 spectators in the Belgian Ardennes, Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or in Dijon, Monza Historic, Dix Mille Tours of Le Castellet and the Algarve Classic Festival in Portimao. Among the winners of the 2015 edition we find familiar names such as the Managing Director of McLaren GT, Andrew Kirkaldy (Proto 1), or the FFSA GT French champion, Raymond Narac, who won in GT1.
Patrick Peter, creator and director of Peter Auto, insisted on sharing with the contenders the honour of this prestigious award: 'I wish to thank the owners, drivers and teams who have made up, season after season, our Classic Endurance Racing fields, making this series one of the richest and most outstanding in the historic racing world.'
