Motul has just announced a new partnership in MotoGP with Aprilia, the brand that has risen to fame with 54 world titles in various motorcycle disciplines. This partnership is the result of a technical development project that began in 2012 in the World Superbike Championship with ParkinGO MTC APRILIA Racing team. Aprilia has shone there as a first-rate brand by winning seven world titles in the past five seasons. In 2015, in addition to the Superbike and Superstock championships, the Italian manufacturer will be involved in MotoGP, a year before the date initially planned. It will be relying on two highly renowned riders: Marco Melandri, former world champion faithful as ever to the brand, and Alvaro Bautista, who contributes his Suzuki and Honda experience. Motul and Aprilia have worked hand in hand to develop an experimental lubricant perfectly suiting the RS-GP and also the constraints of the discipline: speed, performance, consistency and reliability. Alongside Factory Line products with proven efficacy and results, the team will also be using MC Care Line products.
Romano Albesiano, Head of Aprilia Racing, commented: “We are very happy to have Motul alongside us for our entrance into the top motorcycle racing category. Their experience in Grand Prix racing goes without saying and it will be very helpful to us in our first MotoGP season where Aprilia is completely committed to developing our prototypes and searching for the best possible performance.”'
This partnership will be concretised on track on 28 March when the first Grand Prix of the season will be held in Qatar.
