Motorsport is back at full strength in front of thousands of event-starved spectators and Motul, as always, is right in the middle of the action and ready to bring it to you! One of the most treasured events on the calendar is the Goodwood Revival meeting, an historic sporting event which takes place this coming weekend (17-19th September) at Goodwood, near Chichester on the south coast of England. Motul is the Official Lubricant Partner to this highly popular event which recreates the golden age of Goodwood Motor Circuit between 1948 and 1966. No modern-day cars are allowed into the circuit, and everyone from competitors to spectators, from mechanics to vendors, fully plays their part by wearing period clothes and embracing the era.
Motul, via its social media channels, will be bringing a special, behind-the-scenes viewpoint on the whole event throughout the weekend, bringing fans as close to the event as possible no matter where they are in the world. A social media competition will also be run featuring the best cars in the parking lots, offering prizes to the entrants with the most online votes.
Vintage, value and entertainment
With a packed programme of races to watch, one of the highlights of the weekend will be the St Mary’s Trophy, Presented by Motul, for saloon cars of the era. The star-studded entry list features Motul-supported former British Touring Car Champion, Andrew Jordan, and long-time Motul associate Ten Tenths Racing, the team of Pink Floyd’s drummer, Nick Mason, racing with his son-in-law Marino Franchitti on this occasion. They will be up against Le Mans winners and international champions such as Jean-Eric Vergne, André Lotterer, and many more. The race will be live streamed on Motul social media channels.
It may be a modern invention, but the free oil analysis offered to all competitors by the Motul Racing Lab is vital for the smooth running and high performance of the classic engines being put through their paces at Goodwood. Housed in a period bus in the paddock, the lab and Motul’s expertise could make the difference between boom and bust, and it’s a valuable addition to the Revival meeting. New for this year, and right beside the Racing Lab, is a Motul Coffee Stop where team members and media are welcome to join us for a cup, technical advice, or any other questions they might have.
