During the last weekend of November, Sylvain Bidart, riding for team Luc 1 Motorsport, supported technically by Motul, took the win of the final of the French Supermoto Championship. This performance, at Saint-Denis-de-la-Réunion, allowed the rider to be crowned champion of France of the discipline. Yet this final of the Prestige championship was not exactly restful... Having just one motorcycle to ride on, Sylvain knew that his 25 points lead in the provisional standings left him no room for error. Winner of the timed trials and of the superpole, Sylvain then also won the first final under a still clement sky. In race two, he was pushed in the first turn and suffered an off, but came back strong to take the lead again of a final which he won with brio. But he still wasn't sure of bagging the title and absolutely had to finish the last round. Under torrential rain, he then crossed the arrival line in 3rd position: at last he was Champion of France, a big relief for all the team!
On the occasion of this event, the local Motul importer, CFAO Automotive, had set up a booth which enjoyed a large success with the teeming public. The importer also supported several local riders including Pascal Dorseuil and Olivier Bègue.
