Half-way through the Andros Trophy, we can already say Jean-Philippe Dayraut has done a masterly job! At the Isola 2000 event, on 11 and 12 January, the driver of Sainteloc Racing, partnered technically by Motul, clinched a podium in each of the two races, despite the heavy ballast he is forced to carry owing to his position in the standings. In race one, he came 3rd, the win being taken by Benjamin Rivière, fighting fit and who confirms the threat he represents, in the same way we already saw last year. Race two saw a dramatic turn of events as it was Serge Lubrano who climbed the highest step of the podium: he clinches his first win in this championship in which he is contending for the ninth season! In this same race, Jean-Philippe Dayraut remained regular by bagging a solid 2nd place, while team Sainteloc had perfectly managed the 1st final, Bertrand Balas protecting its leader JP Dayraut in front of a highly incisive Jacques Villeneuve.
In the Electric Andros Trophy, partnered by Motul, we witnessed in race one a show of strength by Frank Lagorce, in the lead ahead of Adrien Tambay and Christophe Ferrier, the local man of the stage, who all fought it out fiercely. Race two saw the same drivers in the first three places, but this time it was Ferrier, highly motivated to race on 'home ice', who got the better of his contenders.
The fifth event of the season will take place next weekend at Lans-en-Vercors.
