ANATOMY OF A TOYOTA YARIS GR RALLY CAR
14.07.2022
Motul has teamed up with rally and drift driver Xavier Lachkar for a season that looks very promising. The current Mauritian "King of Drift" will be a new partner of Motul for the 2022 season of the Motor Racing Club (MRC) Rally Championship. Last week the new car was revealed in its iconic red and white Motul livery.
Going back to his racing roots
It is a reset for Xavier Lachkar. Friday 8 July was an unprecedented event on the island. This outstanding driver unveiled his new Toyota Yaris GR at the Toyota Mauritius dealer. Proudly displaying the famous red and white colours of Motul, the car is entirely custom-built to FIA standards, making it qualified for international competitions. It is also the first Yaris GR on the island.
The first Motul-supported rally in Mauritius
It is at the MRC's "La Ronde Toyota", which is also the first Motul-sponsored rally, on 16 and 17 July, that Xavier Lachkar will make the sound of his new flagship's engine resound for the first time in an official competition. The date is set.
Designed for high performance
The Motul 300V POWER 0W20 range will be used in the engine of this new car. This oil is specially designed for all petrol and diesel racing engines, whether naturally aspirated, turbocharged, or supercharged, or equipped with injection (direct/indirect). It is therefore ideal for tuned engines and high-performance cars operating over a wide range of engine speeds and temperatures, under difficult driving conditions. It’s a so-called "Factory Line" oil, which is the same oil used by the great champions in all major international competitions.
A cocktail of super performance!
To improve braking performance, Motul RBF 700 Factory Line brake oil with a very high boiling point (336°C / 637°F) is used. And to avoid overheating, Motul Auto Cool Expert Ultra coolant will join this cocktail of super performance.
Xavier previously said about the benefits of the technical partnership with Motul:
“It’s a mix of performance and proven reliability. I simply know Motul is the brand to go for. I have seen so many engines and race championships who ride with Motul. Its products are simply the best. Over the decades the brand proved its strength in performance lubrication under the most severe circumstances. Reliability is key in rally racing if you want to win.”
