The seasons change, and with them the styles of championships. The weekend of 8 and 9 December saw the start of the Andros Trophy at Val Thorens. Motul remains a faithful partner of it, while providing its technical support to team Saintéloc which entered again Jean-Philippe Dayraut. The latter, who finished third the seven rounds of the 2012 Andros Trophy, proved once again he was one of the big favourites. He indeed won the first race and finished 3rd in the second, taking the lead in the overall standings. Benjamin Rivière, 2012 vice-champion, finished 2nd in both races, therefore remaining a particularly dangerous rival.
Motul was also a partner of the Andros Electric and of Hexagon Engineering, the maker of these 100% electric cars, while having one car bearing its own livery, in the hands of Stéphane Ortelli. After finishing race one in 6th place, Stéphane won race two ahead of Lagorce and Ferrier.
In Pilot Bike, also partnered by Motul, the win was clinched in both races by Sylvain Dabert, on a KTM.
After this first round which allowed the contenders to get to the heart of the matter of measuring up to one another, the next rounds will take place in rapid succession: 14-15 December in Andorra, and 21-22 December at Alpe d'Huez.
