NISMO CELEBRATES THE PAST AND LOOKS TO THE FUTURE

06.12.2018

Fuji raceway was once again the backdrop for the 21st annual Nismo Festival, a spectacle that celebrates Japan’s finest performance brand. Nismo and Motul have enjoyed an outstanding partnership for many years, so for us this was a trip down memory lane as well.

There has hardly been a championship or competition that didn’t have a Nissan on the start grid, often a GT-R or Z model, and more often than not with the support of a strong Motul Partnership behind the machines. While it has a strong track record on the Euro racing scene, the Nismo brand is even bigger in the land of the rising sun, where the GT-R Nismo has often left the competition playing catch-up.

At the Nismo Festival, Nissan showcased a vast collection of its legendary race cars, either on display or in action against the serene backdrop of Mount Fuji. But not all the cars were from the history books; Nissan was also very excited to launch two new race cars that will set the tone for their racing in the future. The event saw the first ever public outing for their Formula E race car and the new Nissan Leaf Nismo RC car, the latter being an all-electric touring car concept / silhouette competition.
