LOOKING AHEAD TO GREENER MOBILITY WITH GCK MOTORSPORT PARTNERSHIP

What will the future of mobility look like? How does motorsport impact it? What new technologies are being lined up for development and refinement? These are just some of the questions we consider in our continuous search for new technologies and new partnerships which echo our passion for motorsport and spirit of innovation.

A new multi-year partnership with GCK Motorsport, the sport and media flagship of Green Corp Konnection (GCK), fully reflects Motul’s desire to move forward with partners who share the same philosophies, with GCK using motorsport as a lab to develop technological solutions for tomorrow’s mobility. The 360° partnership will combine innovative, industrial, technical, and racing elements and will include Motul’s activities in the world-famous Dakar Rally plus its involvement in the brand new FIA World Rally-Raid Championship and the FIA World Rallycross Championship with GCK’s Lancia Delta Evo-e RX. Motul will be working with GCK Motorsport to demonstrate that tomorrow's new energy-powered cars will be capable of driving longer and even more efficiently, combining reliability and high-performance from race to road.

Motul will be supporting GCK Motorsport on its 2022 Dakar Rally entry using a bio-fuelled powertrain and partner its development programme of a hydrogen-powered car destined for competition in 2023/4. The partners will also focus on the FIA World Rallycross Championship, which will go electric in 2022. All programs will see Motul’s pioneering R&D department, develop and test the latest products linked to tomorrow’s mobility under completely new racing conditions. GCK Motorsport has established itself as a true pioneer in the FIA World Rallycross Championship (WRX) and its ambitious, multi-year cross-country development plan aligns well with Motul’s own motorsport innovation strategy.

Christophe Lacroix, Motul Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer: “We are very happy to have established this partnership with GCK Motorsport and believe that, between us, there is great potential for the future. As a company which has always prided itself on, and been driven by, its innovative spirit and passion for new technology, we are fully invested in new technologies such as EV, hybrid, fuel cell, hydrogen.  As these technologies continue to be introduced into the motorsport world, we are excited to be partnering with experts in these specialized fields. Part of Motul’s DNA has for more than 60 years been the use of motorsport as a living laboratory to refine, test and demonstrate technology, and our new partnership with GCK will allow us to maintain this ethos.”

Eric Boudot, CEO of GCK and GCK Motorsport: “We're excited to have Motul partner with us across all GCK Motorsport programmes. Motul and GCK Motorsport align in their aim to pioneer and innovate, using motorsport as a platform for technological development. Motul will support every stage of our cross-country programme, from bio-fuel in 2022 to hydrogen in 2024, and will also be part of our return to the 2022 FIA World Rallycross Championship in our bespoke-built GCK Lancia Delta Evo-e RX. It is incredibly reassuring to have a global brand known for its quality products and competitive applications join us on this journey and challenge, supporting us in our aims to achieve optimum performance and reliability across our motorsport programmes and beyond."
