MotoGP is a worldwide phenomenon and for every country that MotoGP roadshow visits, the people want to experience the thrill of racing, even if they can’t make it and Assen is no different. That’s where the media comes in. And with track action like we had at the DutchGP, of course they’re flocking in to cover it.

The overall accredited media personnel visiting the Assen paddock this year is 478 members from 26 different countries, whereas 2017 saw 477 members of the media from 31 countries. 12 national TV stations took a trip to the Cathedral of Speed this year from Austria, France, UK, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland.

96 journalists were trackside this year bringing you all of the latest news and gossip, whereas last season saw 129 journalists in attendance but this is made up for by the number of onsite production staff increasing from 86 to 137. The attendance of print media organisations has stayed the same since last year at 223, as has radio stations with 7. The amount of online media organisations visiting Assen, in previous years the attendance of online journalists has risen as high at 32!

The total amount of countries represented by different media organisations stands at 26 - Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Slovakia, Switzerland and the USA. 2017 saw another 6 countries in the paddock - Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Finland, Israel and Serbia.

The total of accredited personnel rose slightly this year from 477 to 478. The total of Dutch press attending the race was 106. The international total of accredited persons this year was 69, attending along with the regular 303 permanently accredited persons this year (up from 289 in 2017) The total of TV workers rose from 215 to 213, which could explain the decrease in the amount of other personnel in the paddock.

15 websites were present at TT Circuit Assen this weekend, providing you articles and social media coverage to follow all of the action. The total printed media organisations stood at 233 which is up from 2017’s 223. Attending radio stations stoof the same in both 2017 and 2018 with 7.
