An epic pole-to-podium performance

First podium for BMW M Team RLL
BMW M Team RLL brought their Motul BMW M4 GT3 to a third-in-class finish, with drivers Connor De Phillippi, John Edwards battling hard in the closing laps for second and third places against a tight competitor field. It was the first time the team has finished on the podium with the BMW M4 GT3.
Pfaff Motorsports’ driver Mathieu Jaminet said of the race win
“We’re back in the championship and pretty confident now. It’s good to finish on a high for the first part of the season.”
Co-driver Matt Campbell added
“Absolutely flawless race once again, especially with the pit stops. It might have looked easy, but trying to manage a car around here is difficult at times. I think it helped on the last stint with the cars battling behind us.”
Bobby Rahal, team principal of BMW M Team RLL, said
“We can be very happy with our performance today and our first podium finish of the season. Connor and John put up a good fight. Our strategy and the pit stops also worked. I am very proud of the team.”
BMW M Team RLL driver Connor De Phillippi said
“It's great to have finished on the podium for the first time with the new BMW M4 GT3. The team made the most of our opportunities today. We can be proud of that.”
Co-driver John Edwards added
“That was a tough fight today. We were still aiming for second place, but at the same time we could easily have missed the podium. It was close. We can be very satisfied with our performance.”
Official partner of BMW M Motorsport since 2020
Motul became the official partner of BMW M Motorsport in 2020, providing technical co-operation, expertise and support to its racing programme in North America. It is also the official lubricant partner of Pfaff Motorsports. On the partnership with Motul, BMW driver De Phillippi said: “Motul has years and years of experience in motorsport, and across multiple forms of motorsport. And I think that technology transfer and knowledge from other forms of motorsports brings a lot of value to us in terms of performance and reliability.”
Steve Bortolotti, general manager of Pfaff Motorsports, said
“I believe the value Motul’s products bring is invaluable. Motul has also been an amazing partner of ours throughout the racing season. We truly believe in the superiority of its products. It’s not just marketing or sponsorship. We run Motul’s products in our race cars, or track cars and all in our personal ones too.”
The next round of the IMSA Sportscar Championship GTD PRO class will take on June 26 for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International.
