World FIM MotoGP – Holanda – Assen (#7/18)

Difficult weekend for the Motul teams.

The seventh round of the season was held in Assen on 23 June.   Penalised by a road grip problem at the rear of his GSV-R because of low temperatures, wind and rain, which considerably complicated his task, Alvaro Bautista didn't want to take any pointless risks. He nevertheless made a good start by passing from fourteenth on the start grid to tenth in only two laps. The rider of team Rizla Suzuki MotoGP finally took 11th place. 

Both still convalescing, the riders of team Monster Yamaha Tech3, for their part, encountered problems with their front tyre. Whereas he was in a solid 5th position, Cal Crutchlow had to put up with 14th on the arrival line after being forced to the pits. Having suffered the same problems, Colin Edwards came in 7th. Next round in  Mugello on 3 July!
