Already involved in a very great number of championships worldwide — with 60 titles bagged in 2012 alone — Motul has added a string to its bow by becoming in 2013 the official lubricant of the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand. However it isn't the first partnership with the Japanese brand in the Asia-Pacific region; Motul already provides technical support to the official Toyota TRD team, in the Supercar Thailand series.
At a time when its ninth season is about to commence, the Toyota Racing Series has a confirmed reputation as a major championship worldwide. For young drivers of single-seaters intent on battling it out to the top, this series has indeed become an important stage in their career development. They take advantage of the northern hemisphere winter to contend in the five events of the series, far from their base and their habits, ready to test their skills on tracks unfamiliar to them and in an environment they barely know.
This championship forges their talent and prepares them effectively for the season ahead. For example, Mitch Evans, twice champion in GP3, has won two TRS championships. For Tim Pollard, President of Makay Imports (Motul's importer in New Zealand), 'We have two strong brands that are allying themselves around the common goal of reaching excellence in their performances. I thing this will automatically add to the championship's success.'
